Average home prices in Annandale up 8.5 percent from last year

The average price of homes sold in Annandale (zip code 22003) in December 2013 was 8.5 higher than a year before, according to data from Real Estate Business Intelligence provided by Annandale realtor Vivianne Couts, of the Couts Group with Coldwell Banker.

In December 2013, the average price of a home sold in Annandale was $498,366, compared to $459,320 in December 2012. The median price was up 26.7 percent—$510,000 in December 2013, compared to $402,500 in December 2012. It’s taking about 46 days to sell a home, about the same as last year. The most expensive house sold last month in Annandale was in the $1 million to $2.5 million range.

The number of units sold was done slightly. Just 43 units were sold last month, compared to 46 in the same month a year ago. The number of detached units sold are up 19.2 percent from a year ago, while the number of attached units are down 40 percent.
