Body found in Seven Corners lake

Fairfax County Police are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in a lake at the Water’s Edge condos in Seven Corners.
Community members called in a report of an adult male in the water at about 8 a.m. on Dec. 11, said Capt. Jesse Katzman, commander of the FCPD public affairs department, at a briefing on the scene in the 3300 block of Lakeside View Drive.
The body has not yet been identified. “We have no evidence to suggest it’s other than a death investigation at this point,” Katzman said. There are no reports of a missing person in that area.
The upper body is slightly out of the water face down, with the rest submerged, making identification difficult, he said. The victim is about 15 to 20 feet from the shoreline, so it can’t be reached from the shore.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau and the underwater search and recovery and marine patrol units are working to recover the body and search for evidence. Divers are bringing an inflatable raft to bring the body out of the lake and will look for a phone and other evidence underwater.
UPDATE from the police – “The investigation points to suicide at this time; therefore, we would not be releasing their identity at this time.”
