A car crashed into the Evergreen Academy in Annandale Friday afternoon, sending one woman to the hospital.

The academy, in an office building at 7700 Little River Turnpike, provides English language instruction.

The crash totally destroyed a classroom.

According to Miguel Escoto, who was called in to board up the entrance and clear the damage, a woman who was parked in a handicapped space thought she was going forward but instead backed into a first-floor classroom. The room was totally destroyed.

Escoto, the owner of Quality Remodeling and Renovation LLC, said students in the classroom had finished taking a test and left five minutes before the accident. A woman who was standing by the back wall was struck by the car.
