A carnival is coming to the Kmart parking lot on John Marr Drive in Annandale April 4-14.

There will be 19-20 rides plus games and food stands, says Bob De Stefano, a consultant with Dreamland Amusements.

Rides include a large Ferris wheel with more than 3,500 colored lights, the Screaming Eagle orbiter, Vertigo (an 80-foot tall tower with swings), Storm, Sizzler, Cyclone, Tilt-a-Whirl, Starship 3000, Orient Express family roller coaster, and more, plus a Fun House and several kiddie rides.

The carnival will have the traditional games (such as basketball and balloon pop) and food (popcorn, cotton candy, fried dough, chicken fingers, and fries).

Admission is free. Tickets will be sold for rides and games, or you can purchase two wristbands for $35 allowing unlimited rides. A single ticket is $1.50, 20 tickets are $30, and 50 are $60. The bigger rides take four or five tickets.

The carnival will be open 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 5-11 p.m. on Friday; noon-11 on Saturday; and noon-9 on Sunday.
