Celebrate Earth Day with your neighbors and friends next Saturday in Annandale.
Fairfax County’s Community Revitalization Section is hosting an Earth Day event at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space, 7200 Columbia Pike, on April 19, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Activities include:
- A gardening demonstration, focusing on how to contribute to a greener community;
- Practical tips for reducing waste and sustainable living through recycling and composting;
- Ecology-related crafts for kids;
- Local vendors and exhibitors featuring eco-friendly products and sustainability initiatives;
- Educational booths on local wildlife, conservation efforts, and more;
- Seedling giveaways; and
- An ice cream truck.
The Earth Day event is a great way to connect with community members, learn about living more sustainably, make a positive impact on the environment, and enjoy the outdoors.
The event is free, but signing up in advance will help county staff with planning.
