Chevy dealership proposed for Lincolnia

The former site of Cherner Lincoln Mercury at 6500 Little River Turnpike, Lincolnia, which has been vacant for more than two years, could be converted to another car dealership—this time for Chevys.
The Mason District Land Use Committee voted Nov. 29 to approve Raymond Page’s request for a zoning special exception to allow the development of Page Chevrolet on that spot. The proposal now must be approved by the Fairfax County Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
Attorney Lynne Strobel of Walsh Colucci Lubeley Emrich and Walsh told the committee there will be no changes to the footprint of the existing building and that the nearby Lincolnia and Autumn Glen communities do not object to the project, as long as there is suitable landscaping serving as a buffer.
Committee chair Roy Lounsbury said he wanted assurances that the facility won’t have overly obtrusive signs or lighting.
Strobel said there has been a car dealership on the 5.3-acre site since 1970.

Passing by this place many times, a few months ago there was a sign that said it was the future site for Toyota. I guess that didn't happen.
Thats all we need is another car dealership with lots of pavement. Wish Mason District could attract businesses that would bring the community together. We have Page Honda on Route 50 removing businesses on Annandale Drive and spreading their new cars out in the parking lot. Lovely!
