Construction of pickleball courts to start next week

Work is starting on a project to create two pickleball courts at Wakefield Park in Annandale. 

The new courts will replace two little-used platform tennis courts (#12 and #13), the Fairfax County Park Authority states. Those courts will be removed next week. The work will occur in several stages. The new pickleball courts are expected to be completed by the end of September. 

Tennis courts #9 and #10 will be reconstructed. They will remain open until the first week in July.
