Craft Bazaar at Annandale church this Saturday

It’s not too early to start thinking about the holidays, and a fun place to get into the spirit of the season takes place this Saturday: The Craft Bazaar at Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

More than 40 artisans and other venders will be there offering handcrafted jewelry, ornaments, candles, bath and body items, woodwork, needlework, children’s clothing, fabric art, baked goods, glass art, blankets, and more. Local author and Annandale blog contributor Robert Schwaninger will be there signing copies of his books.

Be sure to bring your kids. Popular children’s entertainer, The Great Zucchini, will give a free performance at 11 a.m. The Great Zucchini’s comedy and magic shows have captivated toddlers at the White House, National Zoo, and all over the D.C. area for more than 15 years.

There’s another special treat: The historic Little White Church of Annandale and its museum will be open to the public for free tours. It’s only open a few days a year, so this will be a great opportunity to see what’s inside this Annandale landmark.

The money raised from the bazaar will support the AUMC’s missionary and charity efforts. In previous year’s the proceeds from craft sales have help offset the cost of transporting backpacks to Mozambique and contributed to the Youth Mission in Mississippi.
