Crime report: DWI, assault, drugs

The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following recent crimes in the Annandale/Mason area:

An attempted traffic stop on Route 50/Cherry Street at about 3 a.m. on Dec. 18 led to a DWI arrest. The driver refused to stop and continued driving at a high rate of speed.

The car eventually turned into a dead-end road. The driver tried to run away but was caught and arrested. A minor passenger was released to a parent.

Noah Delery, 21, of Nokesville, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a minor, driving with an open container, child abuse, disregarding a police signal, and driving on a revoked license.

When officers approached a car in a restaurant parking lot with four men inside at Little River Turnpike and Beauregard Street at about 9 p.m. on Dec. 19, the police smelled marijuana.

One of the men got out of the car and ran. Officers quickly caught him and placed him under arrest. Marijuana and a large amount of cash were found in his pockets. Christopher Morris, 26, of Alexandria, was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice, and was served with an outstanding warrant for felony failure to appear in court.

On Dec. 19, offers were called to the 3500 block of Moncure Avenue in Bailey’s Crossroads just after 7 p.m. for a report of a man fighting with people. Medics were also called because the man complained of pain in his knee. While the man was detained by an officer, he head-butted an officer in the chest while the medic was attempting to look at his knee.

Jeffrey Fisher, 58, of Chantilly, was charged with disorderly conduct, drunk in public, and assault on a law enforcement officer.
