Demolition of Lacey Center delayed

Demolition of the Lacey Center, originally scheduled for August, has been delayed until October, reports school board member Sandy Evans. “Between now and then, there will be other activity at the site, such as surveying and fencing. The contractor is in the process of getting required permits and other site preparation work,” Evans says. The new elementary school to built on the site is schedule to open in fall 2012.

  1. I hold Gerry Connolly responsible for this, he built this massive county government on the backs of homeowners and his lackey Bulova has kept it up. Now a public school can't get the permits, how silly. That school had better open on time in 2012. I am sure the county will bus in kids from east of 395 to fill the seats, just like at AHS, where the local kids get shipped to Falls Church.
