Drug arrests reported in Lincolnia

Three men were charged with drug possession on Dec. 28 in the Lincolnia area, the Fairfax Police Department reports. Officers spotted several men at about 7:20 p.m. acting suspicious while sitting in a car at the Crystal Woods apartment complex.

While speaking to them, officers saw marijuana, and the men were detained for questioning.

Justin McDowell, 28, of Annandale, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Leonardo Valenzuela Goncalves, 27, of Alexandria, was charged with possession of cocaine, and Carlos Deras Lopez, 28, of Alexandria, was cited for possession of marijuana.

A clerk at Duke Cigar and Tobacco at 7354B Little River Turnpike, Annandale, called the police at about 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 to report that a man had tried to cash a check that been stolen from the business and also reported a burglary in which property was stolen.

Police arrested Edy Ruiz Antunez, 22, no fixed address. He was charged with forgery and “uttering a check,” which means trying to use a forged or worthless document. The burglary is still under investigation.
