Dunkin’ Donuts to open in August

The future home of Dunkin’ Donuts.

Dunkin’ Donuts is expected to open on Columbia Pike in Annandale the first week of August, according to the general contractor working on renovating the building.

The shop will offer the same items as any other Dunkin’ Donuts: donuts, coffee, latte, espresso, frozen drinks, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and muffins.

The Dunkin’ company, based in Canton, Mass., was founded in 1950. There are 13,200 shops worldwide, including 10 within five miles of Annandale.

The Annandale location, at 7025 Columbia Pike, is the site of a former flower shop. The building has been vacant since it was heavily damaged in a fire two years ago.

The building was originally a single-family house. Subsequent tenants included an auto repair shop, real estate company, newsstand, botanical shop, and Annandale Florist.

  1. That’s a very tight property. I don’t see signs of a drive through. Plus there’s very few parking spaces. Hope they can make it work.

  2. Shame. Dunkin’ has been awful ever since they were bought out by private equity (Bain, Carlyle, Thomas Lee) and subsequently subjected to quality and cost-cutting measures alongside overexpansion.

    Annandale deserves better donuts.

    1. Where else can you get donuts in Annandale? The grocery store? Dunkin’ IS better, and a much preferable addition to the scene than some of the other businesses that pop up around here.

I’ll be glad to stop in!

  3. The name is Dunkin’ Donuts – “Dunkin’ Donuts, trading as Dunkin’ since 2019, is an American multinational coffee and donut company, as well as a quick service restaurant. It was founded by Bill Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1950” – show some respect! (let the Donut wars begin now that Pickle ball war is fading)

  4. Tous De Jours and Shilla Bakery have some really delicious pastries. More interesting and delicious than Dunkin’! Probably lower priced too, though I can’t say that with certainty as we don’t have a Dunkin’ in Annandale, so I haven’t been in years. #shoplocal
