Early voting starts tomorrow for Democratic primary

Early voting is available at the Fairfax County Government Center.

Early voting for the June 8 Democratic Primary starts on Friday, April 23.

People can vote tomorrow at the Fairfax County Government Center in Fairfax. See details on hours and location here

On April 24, two more early voting locations will open: the North County Government Center in Reston and the Mount Vernon Government Center in Alexandria. 

On May 29, 13 additional early voting sites will open, including the Mason Government Center in Annandale and the Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church. 

Any registered Fairfax County voter may vote early at any Fairfax County early voting location. You do not need a reason to vote early but you do need to bring an acceptable ID. Visit the Fairfax County Democratic Committee website for more information.

The ballot for the Democratic Primary includes these candidates for statewide office: 

Governor – Terry R. McAuliffe, Jennifer L. McClellan, Jennifer D. Carroll Foy, Lee J. Carter, and Justin E. Fairfax.

Lieutenant governor – Hala S. Ayala, S. “Sam” Rasoul, Andria P. McClellan, Sean A. Perryman, Mark H. Levine, and Xavier JaMar Warren. (Elizabeth R. Guzman dropped out of the race). 

Attorney general – Jerrauld C. “Jay” Jones and Mark R. Herring.

House of Delegate races for seats in districts serving the Annandale/Mason area: 

38th District – Holly E. Hazard and L. Kaye Kory.

49th District – Alfonso H. Lopez and Karishma N. Mehta.

Herring, Kory, and Lopez are incumbents. Fairfax is the current lieutenant governor.

The Republican Party of Virginia is not having a primary this year and is instead selecting candidates at a convention on May 8 in multiple locations, including Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale. 

If you requested a vote-by-mail ballot for the Democratic Primary but you decide to vote in person, you’ll need to bring the ballot you received in the mail with you to surrender at check-in.

On primary day, June 8, all polling locations will be open 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Look up your polling location here.

    1. Clearly, a healthy-minded comment to make to this article lol. Perhaps a bit too much time consuming Breitbart, OANN, and Far Right social media bubbles to see something about a state primary and get triggered into posting some extremist content?

  1. How did voting become liberalism? If the right is worried, they should be. If they were better connected to voter needs and responsive to governing they would not have any concerns.
