Explore a park: Justice Park

Justice Park, at 3312 Peace Valley Lane in Seven Corners, across the street from Justice High School, serves students, as well as the public.

Features: Four tennis courts, a basketball court, a softball field, a picnic shelter, an outdoor classroom, and an open grassy area. There’s a path through the wooded section of the park. The softball field and tennis courts are used by Justice High School teams.

The Justice High School JV girls softball team practices at Justice Park.

Access: Street parking on Peace Valley Lane.

Improvements: The Friends of Holmes Run and other volunteers periodically come to the park to remove invasive plants.

History: The Fairfax County School Board changed the name of JEB Stuart High School to Justice High School in 2017. Two years later, the Park Authority changed the name of JEB Stuart Park to Justice Park.

In 2021, the school board dropped plans to create a parking lot in Justice Park. FCPS had said that was needed because a planned addition at Justice High School would reduce the number of parking spaces at the school.

The parking lot proposal generated intense opposition within the surrounding community. During that time, residents researching the history of the property discovered it had been occupied by generations of Black landowners. The Park Authority acquired the parcels in the early 1960s.

One response to “Explore a park: Justice Park

  1. A lot of homeless drink and do drugs behind the dugouts. Trash covers the hill behind the dugouts and stands. The people that live there will recede into the trees if they see you coming. Don’t let kids go there alone.
