Fairfax Connector to replace Metrobus routes in Annandale

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is proposing five new routes to replace Metrobus routes being eliminated. Three of the new routes serve the Annandale area.
FCDOT is holding a virtual community meeting on the new routes and proposed service changes affecting other Fairfax Connector routes on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. Register for the meeting here. You can also join the meeting by calling 1-844-621-3956 (access code: 179 225 4943).
These are the proposed new Connector routes affecting the Annandale area:
- Route 803 would replace Metrobus 3A. It connects Americana Drive, Little River Turnpike, and Annandale Road in Annandale and N. Washington Street in Falls Church – and Seven Corners on weekends.
It would operate seven days a week:
Peak – every 30 minutes, 5:35-8:45 a.m. and 4:05-7:05 p.m.
Off-peak – every 40 minutes, 8:45 a.m.-4:05 p.m.
Evening – every 60 minutes, 7:05-9:34 p.m.
Saturday – every 45 minutes, 6:57 a.m.-8:35 p.m.
Sunday – every 45 minutes, 6:57 a.m.-8:34 p.m.

- Route 834 would replace Metrobus 29C. It would connect Northern Virginia Community College with the Pentagon Metro station via Little River Turnpike and Interstate 395.
It would provide rush-hour service every 30 minutes westbound 6:45-8:17 a.m. and every 30 minutes eastbound 4:27-6:59 p.m.
- Route 835, the Braeburn Drive – Pentagon Express route, would replace Metrobus 29W. It would provide rush-hour service every 30 minutes between the Wakefield Chapel and the Pentagon Metro station. This route would run 5:50-9:10 a.m. and 3:35-7:48 p.m.
The proposed changes would take effect in July 2021.

The other new routes and service changes affect bus lines that serve Tysons, Dunn Loring, Centreville, Fair Oaks, Falls Church, McLean, and Richmond Highway.

I think this is great! WMATA completely ignored these routes as they were falling apart last year and then when on strike. Hopefully with local control complaints will actually be heard.
