The Fairfax County Park Authority’s nine RECenters will reopen to the public over the next several weeks, now that the region has entered Phase 3 of Gov. Ralph Northam’s Forward Virginia Blueprint.
Three RECenters – Lee District, Oak Marr, and Spring Hill – will reopen next Monday, July 13.
Audrey Moore RECenter in Annandale and two others will open on Monday, July 20. Providence RECenter in Falls Church is in the last group, set to open on July 27.
Initially, the fitness centers and pools will reopen under timed entry restrictions for individual workouts, lap swimming, and water walking. Reservations will be required. There will be less exercise equipment on the floor with increased separation between each piece.

Members and guests will be subject to a health screening for COVID-19 symptoms at the entrance. Everyone will be required to wear face coverings over their nose and mouth when not actively exercising.
Later, drop-in exercise and other classes inside the RECenters will resume, free and plate weights will return, and racquetball and basketball courts will be available.
Other park sites will open under Phase 3 restrictions, including nature centers, historic properties, and visitor centers, although dates haven’t been announced.
