FCPD recruits former federal workers

The Fairfax County Police Department has launched a recruitment initiative aimed at attracting former federal employees interested in a career in public safety. FCPD is offering a $15,000 hiring bonus for new police officers.

According to the police department, “Federal employees and other skilled professionals bring valuable expertise that aligns with the needs of the department, making them strong candidates for a variety of roles.”

“Professionals transitioning from federal employment or other structured roles will find that their skills –such as teamwork, problem-solving, and operational efficiency – are highly valued at FCPD,” the agency states. The department provides extensive training, as well as leadership development programs, tuition reimbursement, and career advancement opportunities.

There are current openings for police officers, including positions in specialized units such as K9 investigations and the marine patrol.

Professional staff positions are available in crime analysis, parking enforcement, police citizen aides, administrative assistants, investigative aides, and other areas.
