The 2014 Fire and Rescue Department awards will be presented Aug. 12 at the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department on Columbia Pike.
Beth Adams, quality manager in the Emergency Medical Services Division, was selected as 2014 Civilian of the Year. Capt. I Chester Waters of the training academy, a 21-year veteran, was selected as Officer of the Year for his role and extraordinary leadership in graduating more than 250 firefighter recruits since 2008.
