Former Inova buildings to be repurposed
Highland Square Holdings and Madison Marquette, the partnership converting five vacant offices at the Skyline Center into live/work units, are bringing that concept to an office building in Merrifield.
Madison Highland Live Work Loft Services LLC plans to transform two former Inova Health System buildings at 8100 Gatehouse Road and 2990 Telestar Court into residential properties, the Washington Business Journal reports.
According to a rezoning application, Madison Highland would create 201 live-work units in the building on Gatehouse Road. Tenants will be able to use their units as residences, commercial offices, or both.

The other building would be repurposed with 82 workforce housing units with rents affordable for households earning 60 percent of the area median income.
The Merrifield buildings used to host Inova’s corporate offices, but have been largely vacant since Inova relocated to the Inova Center for Personalized Health on Gallows Road.
The renovated buildings could be ready for occupancy by the end of 2024.
