Sheriff’s deputy assaulted an inmate

Fairfax County Police detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau on May 7 charged a former Fairfax County sheriff’s deputy for the assault of an inmate at the Adult Detention Center in January.

Following an investigation, detectives charged Nicholas Vaszil, 28, of Annandale, with simple assault.

On Jan. 3, the internal affairs department at the Sheriff’s Office notified the FCPD about an assault that occurred at about 3:45 a.m. on Jan. 1. A sheriff’s deputy assaulted an inmate in the jail’s booking area following a verbal altercation. 

Vaszil’s employment with the Sheriff’s Office was terminated on Jan. 30.

  1. The inmate assaulted was me. Ronan Lawrence. This is actually not what happened there was 3 officers who assault me and had to be taken to the hospital because I was knocked unconscious. If you would like the whole story be free to interview me

  2. So what actually happened then? Was the cop they charged one of the 3 that knocked you out? Did they charge the other cops too?
