Free admission at rec centers on Sept. 27

All Fairfax County Rec Centers will be open to the public for free on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

That includes the Audrey Moore Rec Center at 8100 Braddock Road in Annandale and the Providence Rec Center, 7525 Marc Drive in Falls Church.

The public can enjoy free admission all day. Rec centers are open 5 a.m.-9 p.m.

The Park Authority has scheduled special programming and activities during the open house, 4-7 p.m., including fitness demonstrations, sample classes, snacks, and activities for children, such as arts and crafts and a scavenger hunt.

Audrey Moore Rec Center will also have an esports trial area, swim evaluations and class-level recommendations, a children’s play area, and drop-in fitness classes.

Providence will have pool games, nutrition and exercise professionals, a music and art show, a 3D printing demonstration, a martial arts presentation, a Zumba party, and popcorn.

Members of the public are invited to tour the rec center facilities and meet staff during the open house. The Park Authority hopes people will sign up for a seven-day trial membership or a 30-day membership for $30.
