Free tax help available in Annandale
Free tax preparation assistance is available in Annandale for households that earned less than $58,000 in 2021.
The service is provided through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA is aimed at helping families maximize their tax returns and avoid the fees businesses charge to prepare taxes.
VITA is available at six sites in Fairfax County, including Virginia Career Works at 7611 Little River Turnpike in Annandale.
It’s open, by appointment only, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-3 p.m. and 5-7:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Northern Virginia CASH, a coalition of community partners, assists the local VITA sites. The Fairfax County Department of Family Services has provided operational support to the coalition partners for the past 15 years, assisting about 4,000 families receive a combined average refund totaling $6 million.
