Girls invited to lacrosse clinic at Justice HS
Monica White, the head varsity coach and assistant director of student activities at Justice High School, encourages more young girls to take up the sport of lacrosse.
She invites girls in grades 5-8 to sign up for a lacrosse clinic to learn more about the sport and improve their skills. No experience necessary.
The clinic will be Nov. 18, 19, and 20 at the Justice High School stadium, 6-8 p.m. Register here. The $50 fee includes a T-shirt. The school will provide equipment.
The clinic is suitable for both beginners and experienced lacrosse players. Justice’s coaching staff and varsity players will teach essential passing and catching fundamentals and offensive and defensive strategies. Each session will end with small-sided competitive scrimmages.
The Justice girls lacrosse team finished the 2024 season as National District Champions and advanced to the Occoquan Region Semi-Finals for the second year in a row. The team also had the Coach of the Year and the the offensive and defensive Players of the Year in the National District.
“To say we are proud is an understatement,” White says. “Our goal is to continue this success and make history each year.”
Girls lacrosse is different from boys lacrosse, she notes. Girls don’t need as much equipment. They don’t use helmets or padding; they only have a mouth guard and goggles, along with a lacrosse stick.
Unlike the boys, girls don’t hit each other with sticks; they just hit one another’s sticks. The girls have more finesse and their games are more fast-paced, White says. The field is the same size but the lines are different.
“Lacrosse continues to grow in Northern Virginia,” she says, “and we want you to be a part of it.”
Love to see it!!!!
Go Justice Girls Lacrosse!!!!
