Girls sexually assaulted on school bus

A 12-year-old boy is facing charges that he sexually assaulted two girls on a Fairfax County school bus, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

The investigation began on Nov. 13 when two Camelot Elementary School students told their parents they had been sexually assaulted by a boy on the CA02 school bus. After an investigation by FCPD Major Crimes Bureau detectives, the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fairfax County was briefed and petitions were obtained.

The boy has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of object sexual penetration. The petitions were served Dec. 17. The boy was processed at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center, then released to the custody of his parent.

Anyone concerned that their child might have been touched inappropriately should call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800. Tips can also be submitted online through Crime Solvers or by texting “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

In other crime news, a man walking at the 3400 block of Payne St. near the Bailey’s Crossroads School Center at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 was grabbed from behind and stabbed twice in the abdomen. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled toward Columbia Pike. He is described as about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, and of unknown race.

A man was robbed in the 7400 block of Arlington Blvd., at about 2:25 a.m. on Dec. 6, after he arranged to sell shoes through a phone app. Two juveniles who showed up for the sale threatened him and intimidated him into surrendering the shoes.

Police officers located the two teens, who were identified by the victim. Petitions were obtained on both juveniles after they were interviewed by FCPD detectives.
