Glory Days interested in Barcroft Plaza

There are 15 Glory Days Grill restaurants in Virginia, five in Maryland, five in Florida, and one in West Virginia. [Glory Days Grill] |
shopping center on Columbia Pike, there’s a possibility that Glory Days Grill
might move into that space.
of the Glory Days restaurant chain. He’s been talking to the owner of the shopping center,
Federal Realty Investment Trust, but nothing’s been agreed to.
“We already did due diligence,” he says, referring to
negotiations underway over a year ago for that space. But that plan fell through,
and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles worked out a deal with Federal
Realty to relocate its customer service center on Four Mile Run to that spot.
Local residents strongly opposed having a DMV in Barcroft Plaza. In January, DMV
announced that it dropped plans to relocate and will stay at Four
Mile Run.
stating that Glory Days was considering opening in Barcroft Plaza, there were a lot of
positive comments from local residents. So the community should be pleased if
this happens.

Realty, as the company owns the Pan Am Shopping Center in Fairfax, which has had a

there by the end of the year,” he says. “We’ve already done work on the plans a
year and a-half ago.” It would take about two months to negotiate a lease, four
months to get the plans approved, and three or four months for construction.
This would be a fantastic addition to the plaza!
This would be a absolutely PERFECT addition to the Annandale community and the Barcroft Plaza Shopping Center. WIN WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, Jeff; Please FRIT; come together and make this happen !
Please move in! Desperately hoping for a few good restaurants in the area!
Sign them up today. What an amazing addition that would be to the Mason District.
Great news. Lets keep the MDistrict headed in this direction.
Was hoping Glory Days would get back in the mix. A successful local chain is not that big a risk Federal Realty! Annandale needs options and will support Glory Days!
That would be true revitalization. Anything we can do to help?
I was hoping for the Hooters that was mentioned at the public hearing but Glory Days would be the next best thing. Too bad we had that big detour or they could have been open for the race today.
I think a Glory Days in that spot would be awesome! A place like that would fit in well with the community and low competition for parking. I know some people who would walk over there for dinner.
Finally!
Yea! That's the best idea I've heard in a long time. They don't have a lot for a vegetarian like me, but I would gladly support them if they do move in. (You can never have too many nachos, cheese sticks, and cheesecake and chocolate and brownies and…)
I know a lot of my co-workers would be very happy, too–we're right down the road and often looking for a nearby nosh for some team-building! This would be a real shot in the arm.
They have a veggie burger that my non meat eating daughter gets whenever she goes to a Glory Days.
Thanks; I know. Personally, I don't care much for veggie burgers when I eat out for several reasons, including the fact that I never really liked beef in the first place, and that I can get the very same burgers at almost any grocery store and nuke them up at home! When I go out to eat, I usually want something a little more unique. 🙂
I actually didn't know much about the cuisine of other cultures (like Thai, Indian, Ethiopian, Lebanese, etc.) until after I "went veg" in 1985. So glad I broadened my tastes (literally)!
Thanks for the consideration. Tell your daughter that a veg-head on the blogspot said "bon appetit"!
They should call it Happy Days: something we want and no horrible government sponsored DMV.
I'm confused. Longhorn moves in and that's bad, glory days moves in and that's good?
The Longhorn will do just fine there, Adam. I won't be going to it. I like the idea of Glory Days a lot more – a chain, but with a local bent.
I dunno. Would prefer a Karaoke bar or a payday loan joint.
AMAZING NEWS!!! This is exactly what that plaza needs!!! Super family friendly!
Glory Days, please move in as this seems to be something we can mostly agree upon and having you there would likely support community building.
I live across the street and will visit often!
Yes, yes, oh yes. We need something like this; especially as Dak's closed its Columbia Pike restaurant.
This is great and exciting news for our area! A Glory Days would be a good restaurant to fill the void in the family/youth groups/party restaurant genre that Fuddruckers used to have in Annandale. I hope this goes through and that they open by the end of the year as they mentioned!
Now we just need another great business to open in the old Magruders spot!

I'd love, love, LOVE to see a Wegman's there. Does anyone know how to help something like that to happen?
Wegman's can be pricey from what I've heard, but Consumer Reports (and some people I actually know) gave them very high ratings, despite the cost–apparently, a lot of people consider them to be cost-effective, given the quality of the produce and other factors.
Excellent. Please move in Glory Days. Great for the neighborhood.
No thanks to our political leaders who claim they did not support the DMV but did not join their constituents in refuting it and resisting the idiots in Richmond that had no interest in the communities welfare. And to the smug leasing agent at Federal Realty that was only interested in his commission. We hope Federal Realty is listening and heed the needs of the community, that by the way could be profitable for them. Good retail decisions not only reside in the bottom line, but understanding the shoppers and the demographics.
Thank goodness for Harris Teeter and the 600 signatures that showed some guts and a will to end the the DMV folly; and lead to hopefully what will be an appropriate tenant for this shopping center. Glory Days would be be a great neighbor and an establishment I would frequent and support.
We welcome you to Barcroft Plaza.
