Guapo’s brings Tex-Mex flavors to Merrifield
Guapo’s, a Tex-Mex restaurant, is now open in Merrifield. The owners are planning a grand opening celebration on the evening of Jan. 10 with live salsa and mariachi music.
The restaurant is located in a long-vacant building at 3052 Gate House Plaza that housed Chevy’s several years ago.
Guapo’s features such standard Tex-Mex fare as fajitas, enchiladas, ceviche, chimichangas, and tacos. The menu also has a vegetarian/vegan section. There’s a full bar focusing on tequila, along with mojitos, margaritas, and other cocktails.
The Guapo’s chain was founded by the Rincon family. They opened their first restaurant in 1990 in the Tenleytown neighborhood in D.C. There are now 10 locations in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C.
My wife and I love Guapo’s. We eat often at the one in Arlington. This one will be closer, so we are looking forward to going there. I hope they have outside seating.
Guapo’s is a Super Yummy restaurant — Good Luck
WHY OH WHY Couldn’t ‘they’ have opened in the Seven Corners Plaza ????!!!!
Will Anything GREAT Ever Happen To The First “Shopping Mall” Seven Corners.
What A Shame To Know The ‘Style’ Seven Corners Originally HAD — That’s Right “Style’
To See What ‘It’ Has Become
And To Add To The Horrors What Had Been Lord & Taylor With A Revolving Restaurant
And Now–And For HOW LONG — Empty
I GUESS Zip Code 2204 —— Doesn’t Mean Anything To OUR Commonwealth
GOOD LUCK GUAPO
It’s too dangerous being surrounded by section 8 housing and constant violent crime. I should know. I’ve lived here for over 40 years. It wasn’t always like this.
Went here the other night, place was very busy but service was great! Food wasn’t spectacular or anything but above average for sure. Great decor and fun energy, we will definitely be back.
