Help the Bailey’s XRoads Rotary Club replenish the ACCA food pantry
The Rotary Club of Bailey’s Crossroads invites grocery shoppers to pick up a few extra items for the food pantry operated by the Annandale Christian Community for Action.
The Rotary Club is joining the Mason Police District’s Stuff the Cruiser event this Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in front of the Giant at 7137 Columbia Pike in Annandale.
Volunteers will hand out a list of the most-needed items as customers enter the store. At the end of the food collection drive, Rotary club members will drop off the donated food at the ACCA Food Pantry across the street from the Giant.
Earlier that morning, BXRC President Juanita Balenger will present a $500 check to ACCA from the proceeds from its 2023 Classic Mustang Raffle. The Rotary club is also donating $500 worth of food to the ACCA Food Pantry.
If you can’t make it to the Stuff the Cruiser event, you can donate food directly to the food pantry Tuesday through Thursday, 1:30-4 p.m. The pantry is located in a white trailer at 7200 Columbia Pike to the left of the ACCA Child Development Center.
The Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club raised $167,075 from the 2023 Mustang raffle.
The club has been raffling off a fully restored classic Ford Mustang convertible every year for the past 37 years.
This year’s Mustang has a black exterior with GT trim, black vinyl interior, black power top, styled steel wheels with dual red-striped tires, power front disk brakes, dual trumpet exhaust, 289-cubic-inch V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor, and power steering. Information on raffle tickets will be available soon.
Balenger encourages residents interested in serving the community to join the Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club. Contact [email protected] for more information.
The club meets for breakfast at the Goodwin House in Bailey’s Crossroads every Friday at 7:30 a.m. The meeting can also be accessed on Facebook beginning at 7:20 a.m.
“Our members have embraced the Rotary’s motto – “Service Above Self,” Balenger says. “Rotarians build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian services, and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations.”
Why not hold it at ALDIs? A lot more bang for the buck
