Hit-and-run driver arrested

Fairfax County Police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal hit-and-run accident Feb. 1 on Industrial Road near Backlick Road in the Springfield area of Mason District.

Willams Claros, 52, of Alexandria, was arrested March 10 and charged with involuntary manslaughter and felony hit-and-run. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on no bond.

David Velasquez, 29, of Arlington, was struck and killed while walking in the right lane of westbound Industrial Road at about 1 a.m. He was hit by an SUV that did not stop.

  1. there are sum apprently psychotic and atrocious drivers in this area who by all intents and purposes appear like they would run you over just so they can get where they want to get as fast as possible…you must have a slavemaster mentality to drive around like this, disregarding public safety…and the thing is we don't want more slavemaster minded people in this country there is already plenty…eye wish the immigrants who want to come here and be slavemasters would stay in their own country and oppress their own people…the slavemaster mentality can never be equal with folks…they either have to be kissing the behind of those they percieve as better or they are mistreating people they deem inferior…decrepit losers that they are….smdh
