Hot pot restaurant to open in Annandale

A new all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant is expected to open in Annandale in about two weeks.

9292 Shabu is located at 7131-A Little River Turnpike next to 9292 Korean BBQ and 9292 Pocha (a bar that serves small plates). All three restaurants are offshoots of the original 9292 Korean BBQ restaurant in Duluth, Ga.

Each diner at 9292 Shabu will have an individual hot pot to cook at the table. They can order a broth (vegetable, seafood, beef, or chicken) and a protein (pork, chicken, beef, lamb, or seafood), says General Manager Sunny Kim. The seafood option includes squid, clams, and shrimp.

In addition, diners will have unlimited access to a cold buffet bar, featuring fish cake, noodles, vegetables, mushrooms, and more.

Alcohol will be offered as soon as the restaurant gets an ABC license, Kim says. Soju and sake will be on the menu, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails.

The restaurant will be open 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. on weeknights and 11-11 on weekends.

  1. This makes the third hotpot option in downtown Annandale. I do like O My Hot Pot & Gom Shabu though, so maybe there’s enough business for all three.
