Annandale to get new coffee shop

Café V, a new coffee shop at 7131 Little River Turnpike in Annandale, could open as early as next week.

Owner Victoria Lee hopes Café V will become a social gathering place for people of all ages.

While there are plenty of bakery shops in Annandale that also serve coffee, Lee says, “our main focus is coffee.” Café V’s coffee, from the European company Julius Meinl, is very smooth with no after taste, she says.

One of the specialty drinks offered at Café V is the Pink Blossom, with espresso, milk, ruby chocolate, white chocolate, and strawberry flavor.

Another is the Dalgona Latte, with espresso, milk, coffee cream, and dalgona sugar candy (popularized in “Squid Game”). The Tiramisu Latte has expresso, milk, hazelnut flavor, and cheese foam.

Other coffee drinks include mocha latte, black sesame latte, dulce de leche latte, cortado, and cold brew.

Café V will offer light snacks made in-house, such as scones, chocolate chip cookies, meringue cookies, and egg tarts. It will also have bingsu, a Korean shaved-ice dessert. Flavors include red bean, black sesame, green tea matcha, and many more.

Among other items on the menu: chai tea latte, hibiscus lemonade, mango strawberry tea, and “Lady Grapefruit” (grapefruit, sparkling water, and hibiscus flower).

Café V has staff openings. If you’re interested in applying, call 703-531-9292.

The café is in a renovated building between Little River Turnpike and John Marr Drive with four storefronts. Wow Meat, facing John Marr, opened in August.

The space next to it will be a restaurant called Maht which will specialize in grilled fish, Lee says. Maht means “taste” in Korean.

The fourth space, next to Café V, will be a hot pot restaurant called 9292 Shabu Shabu. It’s owned by the same people who own 9292 Korean BBQ Restaurant next door.

  1. This is really great– Annandale could use a place like this. The coffeeshops in the area are very crowded, and generally don’t offer “serious” espresso drinks from trained baristas. I hope there’s plenty of seating! I suspect it will be very popular.

  2. They need to get their online presence in order. I love a good coffee shop but there’s no info on google maps or a website or Facebook to see the menu/hours! If they’re opening in the coming days that stuff should be live

  3. Nice, Adale definitely needs more coffee-centric cafe’s where you can hang out. Beanetics has good coffee, and I think they’d get a lot more business if they renovated the interior and made it a place where people would want to just sit and relax.

    1. The interior has been closed for sit-down customers due to the pandemic. The space limitations of both Beanetics & Tiffany’s Bakery mean that social distancing isn’t feasible until indoor eating & drinking is truly safe again. I do miss my favorite spot! My preference is for plain quality coffee & tea, so complicated & sugary beverages aren’t a regular thing with me, but I have also enjoyed Shilla & Breeze in the past.
