Issho Izakaya & Sushi opens in Annandale

The restaurant’s interior has been completely renovated.

Issho, an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant and izakaya, had a soft opening in Annandale on Nov. 20.

It’s located at 7358 Little River Turnpike in the former Baden spot between a laundromat and Gopchang Story BBQ. For those unfamiliar with an izakaya, it’s a casual, late-night bar with small bites.

Issho has a sushi bar, regular bar, a meeting/party room, and four small private rooms with seating for six.

In addition to sushi and sashimi, the menu features skewers, udon, ramen, tempura, tonkatsu, saki, whiskey, soju, cocktails, and much more. Leftover open bottles can be saved in free lockers for diners’ next visit.

Issho is currently open 11:30-midnight on Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. on other days. The hours will be extended after Issho has its grand opening in mid-December, says manager Emily Kim.

While there are several sushi restaurants and izakaya spots in Annandale, Kim says, Issho is unique because it combines both under one roof.

  1. Considering Annandale is known as “Koreatown” we have a wealth of Japanese places to eat & drink, each different and special. This one is going on my list of places to try.
