Jollibee to open in about two weeks

Jollibee, the Filipino the fast-food restaurant chain, is expected to open its Lincolnia location in about two weeks.

The interior is mostly complete, except for a few finishing touches, and the managers are hiring staff. Job openings are listed here.

The restaurant, at 4809 N. Beauregard St., specializes in fried chicken, known as “chickenjoy.” There is also “jolly spaghetti,” burgers, and Palabok Fiesta (a Filipino noodle dish with shrimp and pork).

Sides include fries, rice, mashed potatoes, peach mango pie, banana langka (jackfruit) pie, and pineapple quencher. A manager cautions that not all menu items might be available when the restaurant first opens.

This will be the first Jollibee in Virginia, although another one is set to open in Chantilly in a former Burger King later this year. The Lincolnia Jollibee is in a former Boston Market property. There are about 1,500 Jollibee outlets worldwide.

    1. This is cultural appropriation. Jolly spaghetti is from the great fascist nation-state of Italy. Burgers are from Texas, America. Only chicken (junglefowl) is from the Philippines. Next they’ll be saying that Koreans invented the ice cream machine.

      Stay in your lane, Jollibee.
