Justice High School PTSA seeks donations for the Wolf Shack

The Justice High School PTSA invites the community to donate to the Wolf Shack, the food and resource pantry for students.

The PTSA wants your leftover Halloween candy for the communal candy bowl, one of students’ favorite things at the Wolf Shack. Drop off your candy at the bins in the school’s front office or contact [email protected] for other drop-off options.

The PTSA is also seeking donations of food and toiletry items for a Stuff the Van event at the popular Bell Game on Nov. 6, the annual football game between Justice and Falls Church High School. The van will be in the parking lot near ticket sales and the entrance starting at 6 p.m.

The Wolf Shack, open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, provides free essential items to all Justice students, including food, fresh produce, personal care products, clothing, school supplies, and snacks.

Food items most in demand are ramen, Pop-Tarts, individual bags of chips and pretzels, fruit snacks, juice boxes, individual cereal boxes, and granola bars.

Needed toiletry items include individually wrapped toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, toilet paper, and laundry pods.

The Wolf Shack is a lifeline for students at Justice, the only Title 1 high school in Fairfax County. Over 70 percent of students qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

Food banks all over the DMV are experiencing record demand, and the Wolf Shack is no exception. The pantry is fully dependent on financial and in-kind donations from families, staff, partners, and the community.

Can’t donate in person? Financial donations can be made directly to the Wolf Shack online or through the Wolf Shack’s Amazon Wish List.
