Lake Accotink trail to be repaired

The Fairfax County Park Authority expects to begin work as early as this week on repairing a section of trail in Lake Accotink Park. 

The repairs will affect the trail between the park entrance at Danbury Forest Drive and the dam spillway. 

The work will include milling the existing asphalt trail, adding new asphalt and stone, grading the rough gravel sections, and shoulder restoration.

The contractor, Tibbs Paving, will mobilize on or about Nov. 16, with active repair activities starting shortly after mobilization, weather permitting. The work is expected to take approximately 21 days.

During the renovation, the trail will generally remain open. However, there will be significant disruptions to users while the crews are working. Tibbs will route trail users around the work area when possible.
