Lane closures this week on Wakefield Chapel Road at Little River Turnpike
The Little River Turnpike/Wakefield Chapel Road intersection in Annandale will have nighttime lane closures on Aug. 11-13.
The closures are needed for a culvert replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
These lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug 12:
- the westbound Little River Turnpike right lane;
- the westbound Little River Turnpike right-turn lane to the service road/Shelley Lane;
- the westbound Little River Turnpike acceleration lane just past the intersection; and
- the northbound Wakefield Chapel Road left-turn only lane to westbound Little River Turnpike.
Drivers will still be able to turn right from westbound Little River Turnpike onto the service road/Shelley Lane; turn right from the service road/Shelley Lane onto westbound Little River Turnpike; and turn left from northbound Wakefield Chapel Road to westbound Little River Turnpike.
These lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13:
- the westbound Little River Turnpike left lane;
- the outside left-turn lane from westbound Little River Turnpike to southbound Wakefield Chapel Road; and
- the northbound Wakefield Chapel Road left-turn only lane to westbound Little River Turnpike.
Drivers will still be able to turn left from westbound Little River Turnpike to southbound Wakefield Chapel Road, as well as turn left from northbound Wakefield Chapel Road to westbound Little River Turnpike.
VDOT warns drivers to expect delays and urges them to use alternate routes.
