Late-night dining spot opens in Annandale

Annandale has a relatively new late-night gathering place – an izakaya – with craft cocktails and a small-plate menu featuring traditional and fusion Korean food.
JMT Kitchen & Bar is located at 4316 Markham Street in the building that also houses A&J Restaurant.

Menu items include deep-fried dumplings with cheese and sweet and spicy or soy garlic sauce, spicy chicken wings, sliders with kimchi, Asian tacos, and Korean-style flatbread with bulgogi.
In addition to small plates, JMT offers more hearty items, such as a whole deep-fried red snapper with tamarind sauce, seafood pancakes, a spicy rice cake stew, pork or chicken donkatsu, and traditional Army stew.

JMT stands for “just my taste,” says manager Eric Hong.
The restaurant is open daily 5 p.m.-2 a.m. There’s a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
There’s a happy hour special Monday-Thursday with a $1 off small dishes, beer, cocktails, and soju.
Another new place, called Kozy Ramen & Bar, is expected to open next door this fall in the space formerly occupied by Tampopo.
