Libraries seek volunteers for Fix-It Clinics

The Fairfax County Public Library seeks volunteers for its Fix-It-Clinics next month.
Several library branches, including the Culmore Community Library and the Thomas Jefferson Library, are offering free assistance for fixing small household objects on Saturday, May 10, 1-5 p.m.
The Fix-It Clinic at the Culmore library in Bailey’s Crossroads is seeking volunteers skilled in electronics/small appliances and sewing/fabric mending. Volunteers must be at least 18.
The Thomas Jefferson Library on Arlington Boulevard in Falls Church needs volunteers skilled in jewelry repair and untangling as well as sewing/fabric mending and repairing electronics and small appliances.
Other library Fix-It Clinics offer additional services. Volunteers at the Kingstowne Library, for example, will repair eyeglasses, watches, clocks, and leather items, such as shoes, wallets, and handbags.
Fix-It Clinics help residents save money by having still-useful items repaired while keeping those items out of landfills.
