Libraries to extend hours Aug. 28

George Mason Regional Library.

Fairfax County public libraries are returning to “normal” hours on Aug. 28.

Library hours were cut back a year ago due to difficulties filling staff positions.

Under the updated schedule, George Mason Regional Library in Annandale and other regional branches will be open:

  • 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

The 23 community branches, including the Wilson Library in Bailey’s Crossroads and the Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church, will be open:

  • 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Community branches will be closed on Sundays.

  1. We are so lucky to have these wonderful libraries that offer so much for free—not just book lending—for people of all ages. Happy they will have longer hours to serve the community.
