Library friends host book sale Oct. 23-26

The Friends of George Mason Regional Library are selling thousands of books at their semi-annual book sale at George Mason Regional Library Oct. 23-26.
The book sale will be open 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. daily. The library is located at 7001 Little River Turnpike in Annandale.
The George Mason Friends are also hosting a preview sale for early-birds on Oct. 22, 5-8 p.m., with a $20 admission charge per adult.

The sale offers a great selection of high-quality hardback and paperback books in a wide variety of subjects, including popular and classic fiction, crafts, cookbooks, art, reference, comic books, graphic novels, history, travel, collectibles, rare books, and children’s books for all ages.
There will also be a large selection of CDs and DVDs. Fine art and pop-up children’s books on sale are on display in the library lobby. There is something for everyone!
The Friends urge community members to come early for the best selection, then come back on Sunday for half-price bargains.
Proceeds from the book sale supports the Fairfax County Summer Reading Program, Library Foundation scholarships, the Fall for the Book Festival, and library programs at George Mason Regional Library.

Love the book sale but never liked the idea of a ” pre sale” where you have to pay to shop first. Always seemed like an unfair advantage . I do still come to the book sale but feel cheated in a way that because I don’t want to ” pay” to see books, I may have missed some I would have liked to have had . What if stores go ” hey you have to pay us to see what we have ” . Like to see them go back to the days of no presale to give all a fair chance to buy.
