Little River Turnpike improvements are part of Chik-fil-A project
This new road will lead to the drive-through window. |
Work is almost completed on a new turn lane from westbound Little River Turnpike into the Chik-fil-A under construction in central Annandale. The project also includes a new sidewalk, curb, and gutter in front of the restaurant.
traffic backs up onto rt50 for the fairfax circle chik-fil-a all the time. Does this one have enough space for the drive-through lines, or will we be dealing with back-ups onto Little River?
We will definitely be dealing with backups onto Little River.
The one in Springfield backs up into Backlick Rd, those can cause accidents…
I drove by the one in Springfield and almost ran into the car ahead of me because they were turning into the lot but couldn't make it all the way due to the backup.
I really hope this doesn't happen on LRT but I'm not holding my breath.
I hope the backups from Chick-fil-A don't interfere with the car races on Little River.
Fairfax County planning and zoning officials received multiple warnings about traffic problems associated with Chik-Fil-A operations – as well as warnings about its location next to the gas station at the corner of Little River Turnpike and John Marr Drive. But as with many zoning decisions affecting Annandale, money talks and public safety is a secondary consideration. The Big Question here is who paid for the road improvements — the company or the county and state. If the latter, it should be scored as a subsidy to the company at taxpayer's expense.
