Local artist fills yard with ‘vote for Harris’ paintings

A political yard sign isn’t enough for artist Todd Crespi.

He filled his front yard, on Whispering Lane in the Barcroft Hills neighborhood in Annandale, with paintings of Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and “vote Democratic” messages.

Crespi has done illustrations for the Washington Post, New York Times, and Los Angeles Times; was an official CNN artist at the Supreme Court; and paints official portraits of judges, attorneys, and corporate leaders. He is also a filmmaker and former actor.

  1. Sad that some people can’t just appreciate art, and are mired in their tribal politics. I think that Trump is one of the most flawed and loathsome execuses for a human being that ever walked the earth, but if an artist decided to paint images of him and his ilk, I could still step back and appreciate the art. Too bad promoting civic engagement with art elicits such responses from brittle, negative, reactive philistines with self-regulation challenges and social skill deficits.

  2. Barcroft Woods is in Falls Church, not Annandale. Annandale doesn’t start until the other side of Sleepy Hollow. Close, but still FC (Fairfax).
