Man arrested for ABC store thefts
Fairfax County Police arrested a man for a string of thefts at Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority stores, including two in Mason District.
Joseph Womack, 38, of Alexandria, was arrested for stealing liquor at the following six ABC stores:
- 7200 Little River Turnpike, Annandale.
- 6209 Little River Turnpike, Lincolnia, Landmark Plaza.
- 8413 Old Courthouse Road, Vienna.
- 7121 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church.
- 2930 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton.
- 3501 S. Jefferson Street, Bailey’s Crossroads, Leesburg Pike Plaza.
The first five incidents occurred on Dec. 13. The sixth was on Dec. 14.
Womack was charged with six counts of petit larceny and is being held on a secure bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Since December 12, the FCPD reports multiple thefts at ABC stores. The suspects were seen entering the stores, concealing bottles of high-end tequila and cognac in coats and bags, and quickly fleeing the scene.
Detectives are seeking help from the community for information on two additional groups (pictured above) responsible for three other thefts.
