Man arrested for soliciting sex from minors
Gregory [FCPD] |
Fairfax County Police arrested James Gregory, 21, of Falls Church, for using social media to solicit sex from minors.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau’s Sex Crimes Squad began their investigation last month when a juvenile victim disclosed unlawful sexual contact with Gregory to their parents.
Detectives believe Gregory used several social media accounts with false names while also misrepresenting his age to solicit sex from minors.
He was arrested Feb. 19 by officers from the West Springfield Police Station and charged with two felonies: carnal knowledge and the use of a communication device to solicit a minor.
Gregory was taken to the Adult Detention Center where he was released on bond.
Gregory was a lifeguard and voluntary swim coach at the Broyhill Crest Recreation Club.
Victim specialists from the FCPD Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victim is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.
Detectives are seeking anyone who may have had inappropriate contact with Gregory to call the Major Crimes Bureau, 703-246-7800, option 3. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers.
