Man attacks police with gas pump nozzles

The Fairfax County Police Department’s weekend crime report includes an incident of malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer. It happened on Columbia Pike near Lacy Boulevard in Bailey’s Crossroads shortly before 12:24 p.m. on Sept. 2.

An officer from the Mason Police District saw Reno Davis, 33, of Falls Church, who had an outstanding warrant for trespassing. When the officer tried to stop him, Davis punched the officer several times, causing injuries to his upper body.

Davis ran toward a nearby gas station and grabbed two gas pump nozzles and swung them at the police. He then ran into traffic, jumping on several cars.

Police officers chased Davis, deployed an electronic control weapon, and took him into custody. A police officer and Davis were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Davis was later taken to the Adult Detention Center where a warrant for malicious wounding and the outstanding trespassing warrant were served. He is currently being held without bond.

There was a home invasion on Aug. 31, at about 1 a.m. in the 7400 block of Lucerne Lane in The Parliaments in Annandale. The resident was sitting on a couch when two men entered the apartment through an unlocked door. One of the men pulled a gun and told the victim not to move while the other man checked his pockets for valuables.

They took a cell phone and wallet. When the victim tried to get up, the suspect with the gun hit him with it while the other suspect punched him several times. The men also took a tablet from the apartment.

The suspects are described as black men in their early 20s, around 5 foot 10 inches, weighing about 180 pounds, and wearing dark clothing. The suspects and victim apparently knew one another so there’s no danger to the public.

A man was robbed in the 6000 block of Knollwood Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads on Sept. 3 just before 2 a.m. As the victim was leaving an apartment building, four Hispanic males began assaulting him. One of them displayed a knife and a pistol. They took the victim’s phone and wallet.

While police were investigating that robbery, a victim from a separate robbery, possibly involving the same suspects, approached the officers. He had been sleeping on a park bench in the 3400 block of Glen Carlyn Road at about 2 a.m. when four Hispanic males began hitting him and took his wallet and phone.
