Man tries to abduct child in Annandale

Police arrested a man after he tried to lure a child into his vehicle in Annandale, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.
Officers responded to the 3400 block of Hemlock Drive in Annandale for a suspicious person report shortly before 9 a.m. on June 3. A child was waiting for a school bus near Wadsworth Court and Little River Turnpike when a man drove up in a black Subaru and attempted to persuade the child to get in.

The child ran to a trusted adult near the bus stop, who took a picture of the vehicle before it left the area. The child safely boarded the bus and reported the incident to a school official, who then called the police.
Patrol officers and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and, with the assistance of the Real Time Crime Center, obtained security footage of the incident. Detectives identified Hugo Perez Soliz, 45, of Annadale as the suspect.
Perez Soliz was located in the area and taken into custody. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with attempted abduction. He is being held on no bond.
Excellent teamwork! Good for the child, the trusted adult, the school and the police. They got their perp off the street and in custody.
