Mason District voters favored Biden

While the national election results aren’t in yet, one thing
is clear: Democratic candidate Joe Biden overwhelmingly beat President Donald
Trump in Fairfax County.

Biden got 69.9 percent of the vote in Fairfax County, compared
to 28.0 percent for Trump, according to unofficial results posted by the
Virginia Department of Elections. Biden carried the state with 53.6 percent of
the vote.

Voter turnout in Fairfax County was 77.5 percent. In Mason District, turnout was 74.8 percent.

Biden won in all Mason District precincts.
Precincts where Trump got the most votes include Barcroft (46.3 percent),
Masonville (47.0 percent), Hummer (46.6 percent), Brook Hill (48.4 percent),
and Ridgelea (46.6 percent).

Sen. Mark Warner got 69.9 percent of the vote in Fairfax
County and 55.6 percent in Virginia, easily beating Republican challenger
Daniel Gade.

Democratic member of the House Don Beyer was re-elected in
the 8th District with 75.6 percent of the vote, versus 24.2 percent
for Republican Jeff Jordan. Beyer got 72.0 percent of the vote in Fairfax
County.

In the 11th District, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) was
easily re-elected with 71.4 percent, beating Manga Anantamula (R) with 29.1
percent. In Fairfax County, Connolly got 70.6 percent.

Constitutional Amendment 1, which would establish a redistricting
commission with the goal of ending gerrymandering, was passed with 65.8 percent
of Virginias voting for it. Among Fairfax County voters, the amendment passed
with 53.2 percent.

Constitutional Amendment 2, granting tax relief for vehicles
owned by disabled veterans, passed with 86 percent of votes statewide. That
measure was supported by 83.6 percent of Fairfax County voters.

All four of the bond referenda on the Fairfax County ballot
passed. The community health and human services bond got 76.5 percent of the vote, the park bond got 72.4 percent, the library bond got 66.1 percent, and the transportation
bond got 67.7 percent.
