Mixed-use project coming to West End
Construction is expected to start by the end of the year on the Upland Park mixed-use development in the West End of Alexandria.
The project, at Seminary Road and N. Beauregard Street, will include 401 multifamily units, 92 townhouses, 8,470 square feet of ground-level retail, and a hotel with 171 rooms.

The developer, Hekemian & Co., bought the eight-and a-half-acre property. NV Homes will develop the townhouses.
The project is replacing about 15 single-family houses.
West End Alexandria’s development and growth is exciting. I hope it will soon spillover to neighboring Lincolnia
It will take years but I do see good things for lincolnia area. That’s part of the reason I purchased there!
This is in the area of single family houses Fairbanks Ave off Seminary Rd, and next to what was the Hermitage senior living, now called The View by Goodwin, near the Northern Virginia Community College Alexandria campus and across from the Southern Towers and opposite corner the Mark Center properties
The single family dwelling located as noted by Mark need to go. Those houses are a wrecks. I guess having a house on Seminary is not delightful and thus the lack of care. Good to see those go.
Whether you live in a house or an apartment when money changes hands you will be evicted or they’ll get you with eminent domain.
Yesterday I was on 395 heading towards DC and there was a huge dust cloud from the demo at Landmark. Good to see that dinosaur leveled. They should have been using fire hoses to suppress the dust but I guess the builder got away with not meeting environmental standards for dust control because they are working to clean up the “DUMP.”
The new development sounds promising, roadways and good mass transit will be a challenge!
Blech!
