Model homes open at new Heritage development

Construction is well under way on the first phase of the Heritage townhouse community on Commons Avenue in Annandale.

When completed, the community will consist of 67 homes on what had been a parking lot, 7-Eleven, and gas station between the Heritage shopping center and the Vistas of Annandale. The Board of Supervisors approved the project three years ago.

Of the 24 homes in the first phase of construction, 16 have already been sold, says Annie Handley of Ryan Homes.

There are two options. The four-story, 2,173-square-foot Neuman model has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a rear deck, roof terrace, and two-car garage in the rear.

The Neuman is selling for a base price of $567,990, but that is likely to increase, Handley warns.

The Wexford model is 1,914 square feet and has a current base price of $557,990. It has three stories, three bedrooms, two and a-half bathrooms, a two-car garage in front, and a small backyard.

The homes have Craftsman style finishes on the interior doors and banisters. “It’s a sleeker, more contemporary look,” often featured on HGTV, Handley says. Both models have a combined living, kitchen, and dining space.

Options include oak stairs, additional half baths, upgraded cabinets and finishes, upgraded bathroom fixtures, hardwood floors on the main level, and a large bedroom instead of two small ones.

The community will have a playground and two areas with picnic tables and grills. HOA dues would be $117 a month, covering trash, recycling, snow removal, and common area maintenance.

  1. Seems like a fairly decent price for the space. It's kind of a sketchy area, I'm happy to see this kind of stuff going in.
