Mosaic District to get new pizza place

[Oak Craft Pizza]

Oath Craft Pizza is coming to the Mosaic District in Merrifield.

The fast-casual chain started in Nantucket, Mass., in 2015 and has four locations in the Boston area. The new restaurant is expected to open this fall at 2905 District Avenue.

What makes Oath Craft Pizza different is its use of “sustainably sourced toppings.” The company has received a “certified humane” designation from Humane Farm Animal Care, an organization based in Herndon.

“When you think ethically sourced food, you may not always think pizza, but that’s something we are changing,” says Oath Craft CEO Patrik Hellstrand, “We’re sourcing ingredients free from chemical additives, hormones, and antibiotics because we’re committed to doing the right thing for our guests and the food system.”

Pizzas are 11 inches and have a thin crust. Diners have the choice of a whole or half pizza. The crust is made off site, which means customers can be served in less than two minutes. The menu also includes salads, breakfast items, and “dessert pizza.”

  1. I hope they are free from nitrates/nitrites too, that would be a huge selling point since all those pork meats like pepperoni and sausage are full of the cancer causing stuff.

  2. Man I am so jealous of the type development Merrifield/Mosaic or Shirlington has had. I wish similar development would happen at 7-corner and Bailey's. I guess if we had substantial bus transit connecting each with Metro stations that really arn't that far.

    1. I don't feel too far or disconnected from Merrifield Mosaic or Shirlington, and visit both regularly.

7 corners is pretty close to East Falls Church Metro, almost walking distance.

    2. Agree @ 153. Mosaic/merrifield is closer to me than baileys and 7 corners, I dont know why we're so incredibly fixated on district dividing lines.
