Motorcyclist killed in crash on Braddock Road

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Braddock Road at the intersection of Kings Park Drive shortly before 9:30 p.m. on June 29, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

According to a preliminary investigation, Paul Economon Jr., 26, of Clifton, was operating a 2013 Honda CB1100 motorcycle eastbound on Braddock Road when he struck a 2021 Toyota Corolla that was making a left turn from westbound Braddock Road onto Kings Park Drive.

Economon was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Toyota remained on the scene and was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives with the Crash Reconstruction Unit believe speed was a factor in the crash for the motorcyclist, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
